2021 Oregon Cascades
We faced rockslides, wind, rain, hail, and snow on this repeat of our 2013 tour. But it was all worth it for a fabulous last day on McKenzie Pass.

2017 La Grande Tour
Three days in eastern Oregon in the July heat. This tour finally taught us the virtue of rolling out at dawn.
2016 West Coast Tour
This was our most epic tour to date. We rode the full west coast of the US, from Vancouver to the Mexican border, across seven weeks of biking.

2013 Oregon Cascades
Our first full tour, this trip was a weeklong loop through the Oregon Cascades, through covered bridges and mountain passes, along rivers and lava flows. It wasn’t easy, but it was wonderful.

Overnights
2021 Davis Area Overnight
This one really pushed the boundaries on what a “bike tour” is. On the first day we biked around Davis, with Ruth on her own and Max on the tandem. For day two we drove to the western hills for a rainy full day’s ride.
2017 Santa Maria Overnight
Our 2017 Thanksgiving overnight took us back south, with a two day loop stopping over near Solvang. Unlike the cold 2015 Thanksgiving overnight, it was hot enough for brush fires.
2016 Mt Diablo Overnight
The test overnight for the West Coast combined two of our local rides into an overnight pair. It was wet, giving a final test for our rain gear.
2015 Sutter Creek Overnight
Max was just a year old, so we wanted to do something simple. We chose an overnight figure eight, where we could leave our bags at the hotel. It was very hot.
2015 Davis Overnight
The second of our 2015 overnights was over Thanksgiving and very cold. Again we did an overnight figure eight, but this time let Ruth ride her own bike on day two.
2013 Coastal Overnight
This overnight was a test trip for the Oregon Cascades trip we took a few weeks later. The first day was a little short, but the second was designed to be a bit harder than the hardest day of the Oregon tour.
2012 Wine Country Overnight
This was our first overnight bike ride. Ruth was 22 months old. We ran out of daylight, but otherwise had great weather and a great time.
