Written years later…
The weather was still perfect.
We took a path through a park, which turned out to be hilly and packed with pedestrians. We would have been better off on the road.
We rode a lot of the day along Hwy 12. Although it was pretty busy, it had a nice shoulder, had great views, and was overall a nice experience.

This was our first overnight ride. I had a pair of bags on my rear rack, plus whatever we could fit in the trailer with Ruth. Anne and I took turns pulling.
The weather was just about perfect, although it was getting dark by the time we made it to the hotel in Santa Rosa.
No kids this time, just a bike date.
