Anne’s been doing training rides with the Fremont Freewheelers to prep for the Cinderella Classic, a women-only organized ride that starts in Pleasanton. This week she decided to ditch the group and instead bring the family on the scheduled ride.
It’s been a while, but we finally found time to do a family ride today. With several of our favorite local roads still closed after the heavy rains a few weeks ago, Anne suggested this variant on our standard Mission loop route, adding some loops in the hills. Despite our efforts to keep it low key, we encountered a new (to us) and exciting mechanical problem.
We decided to take advantage of the three day Labor Day weekend to give Ruth a chance to get some more road time on her own bike in. After considering the options, we figured and out-and-back to the base of Dumbarton Bridge would be a good option.
